Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense asks citizens to be extremely cautious when driving on roads in mountainous areas
DUSHANBE, 16.01.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense /CESCD/ under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, referring to the data of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Republic of Tajikistan, reports a deterioration of weather conditions on the territory of the republic and therefore asks the citizens and guests of the country to be extremely cautious, especially when driving on roads in mountainous areas.
According to the head of the CESCD press center Umeda Yusufi, it is expected the heavy snowfalls in mountain ranges, increased wind in the valleys, especially in the Sughd region, and the occurrence of fog on the roads.
In this regard, the Committee asks citizens and guests of the country to strictly observe the rules of fire safety, save energy and properly use electric heaters, before traveling again to check the vehicle, to eliminate a malfunction, to replace the tires for winter, to comply with traffic rules and speed limits.
The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of Tajikistan urges citizens to refrain from carrying out agricultural work, grazing, harvesting firewood and hunting in mountainous areas these days.
