DUSHANBE, 02.02.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. “Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have strong ties of friendship. We had an exchange of views on the whole range of issues of bilateral cooperation, outlined new tasks and long-term objectives for cooperation, touched upon topical issues of the international agenda. We discussed in detail the issues of trade and economic relations, regional security and cooperation, as well as water and energy ties”, — said the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov following the bilateral meetings, which took place as part of his official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to Sooronbay Jeenbekov, in addition, the issues on delimitation and demarcation of the state border were discussed, following which the parties agreed to continue work in this direction.
He noted that the 90th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov, who is well known and read in Tajikistan will be marked this year in Kyrgyzstan. Some of his works have been translated into Tajik. We hope that the Tajik side will take an active part in the events.
President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov invited the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to visit Kyrgyz Republic on a return official visit.
