Tajikistan Hosts 23rd Meeting of COFM of ECO Countries
Tajikistan hosted the 23rd Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO COM) Member States here on April 17.
A statement by the Tajik MFA Information Department indicated that the agenda of the meeting includes issues related to the implementation of the ECO agreements concluded between ECO member states; status of implementation of ECO projects and programs; relations between the ECO Secretariat and international organizations; activities of ECO specialized agencies and affiliated bodies; progress and assessment of the implementation of the goals and objectives identified in the document «ECO Vision 2025», the adoption of the ECO New Program on assistance to Afghanistan, as well as the administrative and financial issues of the Organization.
The meeting of the ECO Council of Foreign Ministers is preceded by Senior Officials Meeting of the member countries of the Organization, which will be held on 16 April.
Also, in the light of the year of «Tourism and Handicrafts Development», announced by the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H. E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon, within the framework of the 23rd ECO Ministerial Council Meeting the Handicrafts exhibition of ECO countries will be held, on April 16-17 in the “Iram Park».
