Topical issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and OSCE discussed in Vienna
DUSHANBE, 18.07.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On 17 July 2018, Ismatullo Nasredin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, within the framework of his working visit to Vienna to attend the Economic and Environmental Committee of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe /OSCE/, met with Thomas Gremenger, the OSCE Secretary General.
According to the MFA Information Department, during the meeting, the parties have discussed the urgent issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and the OSCE, including regional security, fighting against modern threats and challenges, development and enhancement of cooperation between the OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe and the relevant ministries and agencies of Tajikistan in all three dimensions of the OSCE activity political-military, economic-environmental and human dimensions.
Mr. Nasredin has expressed gratitude to the OSCE Secretariat for cooperation and support in preparation of the High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development», 2018-2028 (Dushanbe, 20-22 June 2018) and to the Secretary General for his active participation and statement at the High-level International Conference at the High-level International Conference on Countering Terrorism and Preventing Violent Extremism (Dushanbe, 3-4 May 2018).
It is expected that today, 18 June 2018, during the meeting of the OSCE Economic and Environmental Committee Mr. Nasredin will present the outcomes of the the High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action «Water for Sustainable Development», for 2018-2028, the outcome documents and recommendations of the Conference, as well as the main areas of cooperation at the regional and global levels in the process of the implementation of the new International Decade.
