Foreign Minister of Tajikistan attended the meeting of Central Asian foreign ministers
DUSHANBE, 24.07.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin paid a two-day working visit to Kyrgyzstan to attend the meeting of foreign ministers of Central Asian states, which was held on July 20-22 in Cholpon-Ata, the Foreign Ministry’s Information Department reports.
The foreign ministers of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed the implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of the working (consultative) meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia (March 15, 2018, Astana).
The participants had a thorough exchange of views on cooperation in combating international terrorism and extremism, as well as drug trafficking.
The parties also discussed issues of strengthening trade and economic ties, as well as interaction in the field of transport, education, science, culture, and tourism.
The foreign ministers spoke in favor of the comprehensive use of water and energy resources in Central Asia and stressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation within regional and international organizations.
