Tajikistan Took Part in Security Council’s Debate on Afghanistan
DUSHANBE, 18.12.2018. (NIAT Khovar) – The Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov took part in the United Nations Security Council’s quarterly debate about the situation in Afghanistan on Monday.
In his statement, Mahmadaminov spoke about Tajikistan’s position on Afghanistan and emphasized the need for better-coordinated action and the need to strengthen regional cooperation in order to increase the prosperity and development of the region.
He also highlighted key threats and challenges facing the region, in particular terrorism, transnational organized crime and illicit drug trafficking. He highlighted Tajikistan’s readiness to strengthen regional cooperation in order to restore peace and stability in Afghanistan.
