Tajik, Uzbek Border Guard Held First Meeting
DUSHANBE, 24.12.2018. (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik and Uzbek Border Guards held the first meeting of the Military Council on December 21-22 in the city of Guliston in the Sughd province.
The Commander of the Border Guard of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Tajikistan Colonel-General Rajabali Rahmonali, the Commander of the Border Guard of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan Major-General Ruslan Mirzaev, the chiefs of the relevant departments and services of the border agencies and the representatives of the border forces of both countries took part in the meeting, reported an official of the Tajik Border Guard Muhammad Ulughojaev.
Reports on the situation at the borders of the two states with Afghanistan and the activity of border control agencies were heard in the meeting.
A draft of the Comprehensive Plan for Interaction and Cooperation between the Border Guards of the two countries for 2019 was also discussed and developed in this meeting.
The plan’s goal is to further strengthen the mutually beneficial relations and to ensure the reliable protection of state borders.
The Military Council also decided to intensify the work of the intergovernmental commission on the delimitation and demarcation of the Tajik-Uzbek state border.
