FM Muhriddin Attends CIS Ministerial Council Via Video Conference
DUSHANBE, 13.05.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin attended the CIS Ministerial Council meeting, which was held for the first time via video conferencing.
The ministers discussed the cooperation of foreign affairs bodies on various issues. The officials noted the need to maintain well-established mechanisms of cooperation in the trade, economic and transport-communication spheres under the conditions of a pandemic and quarantine restrictions.
The ministers also had a thorough exchange of views on further deepening cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture and tourism.
In his speech, Muhriddin presented the position of Tajikistan on pressing issues relating to the international agenda and priority areas of the country’s participation in the CIS.
Eleven documents were signed following the meeting, which was chaired by Uzbekistan.
