Tajik Foreign Minister Attends Belt and Road Cooperation Conference
DUSHANBE, 19.06.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin took part in the international video conference on the Belt and Road Initiative.
Foreign ministers and ministerial officials from 25 countries along with senior officials from the UN, UNDP and WHO participated in the conference.
The officials considered deepening the implementation of the consensus of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, promoting the Belt and Road partners to strengthen international cooperation in fighting the pandemic, carrying out experience exchange and policy coordination for the resumption of work and production, and promotion of high-quality joint pursuit of the Belt and Road Initiative.
In his speech, Muhriddin noted the importance of joint measures to prevent the further spread of coronavirus infection and restore sustainable socio-economic development.
He also expressed his graduate to the government of China, as well as to other countries, UN agencies and international financial institutions for their support and valuable assistance in combating the pandemic in Tajikistan.
