Party of Economic Reforms Nominates Presidential Candidate

DUSHANBE, 24.08.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the VIII Congress of the Party of Economic Reforms of Tajikistan (PERT) was held in Dushanbe, in which party’s Chairman Rustam Rahmatzoda with unanimously elected as a presidential candidate.
In his speech at the congress, Rahmatzoda noted that his main goal in the electoral program is to develop the economy and reduce poverty.
Rahmatzoda will be taking part in the presidential elections for the first time. He was twice elected as a deputy of the Assembly of Representatives.
Presidential elections will be held on October 11.
So far, four out of seven political parties in Tajikistan have nominated presidential candidates.
PERT was established in 2005 and is a supporter of the implementation of agrarian reform, restructuring industrial policy and solving financial problems. Since 2019, the party has been led by Rahmatzoda, and today the party has 31,600 members.
