FM Muhriddin Delivers Speech at the SCO Foreign Ministers Meeting with Russian President

DUSHANBE, 10.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday in Moscow, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin as the upcoming chairman of SCO Foreign Ministers Council delivered his speech at a meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In his speech, Muhriddin noted that, despite the pandemic, the Russian chairmanship in the SCO this year ensured effective interaction within the organization, which made it possible to achieve practical results in the implementation of the tasks set by the leaders of the SCO member states in 2019 in Bishkek.
Muhriddin informed that the priority tasks of the Tajik chairmanship in 2021, which coincides with the 20th anniversary of the SCO establishment and the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, will include issues relating to increasing cooperation in trade, economy, and cultural and humanitarian spheres, strengthening the image and the international positioning of the SCO, as well as improving the legal framework.
He also noted that the vision, goals and objectives of the Tajik chairmanship will be presented in detail by President Emomali Rahmon at the upcoming meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council.
