Heart of Asia — Istanbul Process Ambassadors Meet in Kabul

DUSHANBE, 26.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, а meeting of ambassadors of the Heart of Asia — Istanbul Process member states was held in Kabul.
While thanking the government of Tajikistan for co-chairing the process and its continued support for Afghanistan, the Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Marwais Nab said that the Heart of Asia — the Istanbul Process is a good platform for cooperation and coordination.
He called for the expansion of regional cooperation with a focus on Afghanistan, especially on a regional consensus for peace, in order to pave the way for peace in the country. Tajik Ambassador to Afghanistan Saadi Sharifi emphasized Tajikistan’s readiness to hold a Senior officials meeting and the 9th Ministerial Conference of Heart of Asia — Istanbul Process on March 29-30 this year in Dushanbe and called for active participation.
Participants also reviewed draft documents related to the 9th Ministerial Conference – Dushanbe Declaration, Women Empowerment Confidence Building Measures and Disaster Management and Environmental Protection CBM HoA-IP.
