DUSHANBE, 03.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The delegation of Tajikistan is taking part in the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, which officially opened on November 1 and will run until November 12, reports the Committee for Environmental Protection.

The Tajik delegation consists of heads and representatives of the Committee for Environmental Protection, the Agency for Meteorology, the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, and other relevant structures. They are also expected to participate in a number of side events.

The COP26 will focus on the implementation of key issues of the Paris Agreement, as well as new initiatives of countries to reduce carbon emissions.

On November 1, the official opening ceremony of the Pavilion of Central Asian Countries was held under the motto “Five Countries, One Region, One Vote.” Various introductory events, bilateral and multilateral meetings are planned in the work of this pavilion.
