Sheralizoda and Moran Discuss Expansion of Cooperation in Establishing the International Glacier Fund

DUSHANBE, 12.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – On the sidelines of the COP26 in Glasgow, the Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection Bahodur Sheralizoda met with the Regional Ambassador of the 26th Conference in Europe, Central Asia, Turkey, and Iran David Moran in the Central Asian pavilion.
Sheralizoda informed Moran about President Emomali Rahmon’s initiative to declare 2025 as the International Year of Glacier Protection and expressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation in the process of establishing the International Glacier Fund.
The Chairman of the Committee also proposed to establish cooperation for the implementation of the road map of the national contribution of Tajikistan with the use of a special fund announced by the United Kingdom.
Moran thanked the Tajik side for the invitation to visit the Central Asian pavilion and expressed readiness to expand bilateral cooperation in the process of adaptation to climate change and access to special funds.
