Tajik Rescuers Receive Humanitarian Aid

DUSHANBE, 20.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the acceptance and transfer of humanitarian aid in the form of food and non-food products took place in the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan.
The aid was transferred in order to implement the signed memorandum of cooperation between it and the Caritas Switzerland Programme in Tajikistan, as well as to provide emergency assistance to the population in case of natural disasters.
The food was purchased with funding from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the UN World Food Program in Tajikistan.
The package includes 600 mattresses, 600 pillows, 1,200 bed linens, 600 blankets, 1,200 towels, toothpaste, brushes, 600 soaps and 2 storage containers.
Over 1,500 kilograms of peas, 5,237 kilograms of potatoes, 98 kilograms of beans, and 1,477 kilograms of potatoes for planting were likewise provided.
The act of acceptance — transfer was signed by the Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Rustam Nazarzoda and the Country Director of Caritas Switzerland Shinan Kassam.
All the items are being stored in warehouses and will be used in the event of natural disasters for the affected population.
