DUSHANBE, 31.12.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Committee for Tourism Development and the Community-Based Tourism Association (CBTA) of Tajikistan signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation.
The memorandum was signed in order to establish cooperation with tourism organizations, exchange information, train experienced specialists in the field of tourism, and hold promotional activities to present the tourism potential at home and abroad.
CBTA is a youth association registered in Tajikistan with the aim of developing community-based tourism, which is a type of tourism in which local residents play an important role by building small hotels, opening handicraft shops, and organizing exhibits.
In 2021, the Committee for Tourism Development with the support of partners and local authorities held a series of workshops titled “Community-Based Tourism as a Priority Area for Tourism Development in Tajikistan” in Khorug, Khujand, Bokhtar and Dushanbe.
