Newly Appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan Arrives in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 07.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sodik Imomi received Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan Valikhan Turekhanov.
Following the presenting copies of credentials, the parties discussed topical issues of Tajik-Kazakh cooperation.
They also exchanged views on upcoming joint events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Imomi wished Turekhanov success in carrying out his activities for the benefit of the further development of the Tajik-Kazakh strategic partnership relations.
Turekhanov was born on September 29, 1968 in Shymkent. Graduated from the Shymkent Pedagogical Institute named after M. Auezov and Karaganda University of Economics.
He began his career as a history teacher. In 1994 he entered the diplomatic service at the Consular Department. He headed the department of the central office and educational institutions of the Personnel Department, was the head of the Personnel Department, deputy head of the MFA Office, director of the Administration and Control Department and the CIS Department. He worked in the embassies of Kazakhstan in Russia and Uzbekistan. He also held the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Trade of the Administration of Akim of the North Kazakhstan region.
Prior to his appointment as the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan, he was the director of the Central Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
He has the diplomatic rank of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the II class.
