Lebedev Reappointed Chairman of CIS Executive Committee

DUSHANBE. October 14, 2022 /NIAT «Khovar»/. Sergei Lebedev has been reappointed Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary for another three-year period. The decision was taken at the CIS summit in Astana on 14 October, BelTA reported.
The CIS leaders also agreed with the proposal of Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to rename the position held by Sergei Lebedev from Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary to CIS Secretary General from 2023.
During his speech at the CIS summit Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that Belarus supported Sergei Lebedev’s reappointment. “He is an experienced, competent and reliable person. We are in favor,” he outlined the position of Belarus on this item on the summit agenda.
