2023 Water Conference under the Chairmanship of Tajikistan Discusses in UN

DUSHANBE. October 20, 2022 /NIAT «Khovar»/. On October 19, 2022, co-chairs of the UN 2023 Water Conference, Tajikistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Jonibek Hikmat and the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the UN Yoka Brandt met with the President of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly Csaba Kőrösi.
According to Tajikistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the preparations for the UN 2023 Water Conference, in particular, the mandated preparatory event of the President of the General Assembly, which will be held on October 24-25, 2022 at the UN Headquarters. It should be noted that during this event, the topics of interactive dialogues of the UN 2023 Water Conference will be finalized.
The Office of the President of the UNGA expressed its readiness to contribute to the success of the UN 2023 Water Conference with the aim of timely implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG6, and to support the co-chairs of the conference in this process.
