Tajikistan Will Introduce a New System for Collecting Tourism Statistics

DUSHANBE, 09.01.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The Committee for Tourism Development in collaboration with international financial institutions and with the technical support of the Asian Development Bank with the involvement of experts from the World Tourism Organization will introduce an auxiliary system of tourism statistics (Tourism Satellite Account, TSA).
The system is an auxiliary part of the national statistics system and will determine sectoral indicators in the structure of gross domestic product.
To this end, Dushanbe hosted a training course on the proper organization of the collection of tourism statistics, improvement and simplification of the licensing system.
The course was attended by the leadership and specialists of the Committee, travel agencies and relevant authorities.
It was noted that in order to improve the level and quality of service, attract foreign tourists and guests to the republic, a permanent working group was created in the Committee from among representatives of relevant ministries and departments, whose task is to improve the regulatory framework for tourism statistics.
