Tajikistan and the EU Considered the Possibility of Expanding the Legal Basis of Bilateral Relations

DUSHANBE, 24.02.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On February 23th Tajikistan and the EU initiated the negotiations process on the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
During the delegations’ meeting led by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sharaf Sheralizaoda and Deputy Managing Director for Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, and OSCE of the European External Actions Service Luc Devin, it was noted that the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the EU that is in force since 2005 must be reconsidered in light of sustainable development of Tajikistan and our multisectoral cooperation.
Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement will contribute to cooperation in the sphere of policy and security, as well as other areas of mutual interest, in addition to strengthening trade and economic relations between Tajikistan and the European Union.
