Tajikistan and India Expand Transport Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 03.05.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Since May of this year, the number of regular flights between Tajikistan and India will increase and will be carried out twice a week. This was stated by the Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim at the meeting with the Indian Minister of Transport Nitin Gadkari.
It was also noted that currently, cooperation in the field of transport between the two states is one of the important areas of bilateral relations.
Ibrohim said that India is assisting Tajikistan in the construction of roads. In particular, with the support of the Government of India, a modern highway was built in Dushanbe.
Gadkari, in turn, noted that in India, great attention is paid to the transport industry, including new technologies.
The parties expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation in the field of road construction, transport, logistics and digitalization.
