DUSHANBE, 12.03.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On March 11, on the margins of the 68th Commission on the Status of Women, the Permanent Mission of Tajikistan to the United Nations in partnership with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the permanent missions of Malta, Albania, Canada, Italy and Sweden сo-sponsored a side event entitled «Empowering Women for Justice: Advancing Gender Equality in Organized Crime Prevention and Exit Strategies.»
The side event discussed the roles women play in organized crime groups, and highlighted the development of gender criminal justice response of the prevention and exit strategies.
In his speech, the Permanent Representative noted that Tajikistan pays special attention to the promotion of gender equality in the field of criminal justice, especially in the fight against organized crime, and takes the necessary measures to prevent the inclusion of women in organized criminal groups.
