DUSHANBE, 19.04.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – “Tajikistan is the closest, most reliable and time-tested strategic partner for Uzbekistan. The fraternal Uzbek and Tajik peoples are inextricably linked by strong bonds of centuries-old friendship. We are brought together by common history, cultural and spiritual values, traditions and customs,” said the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev following talks with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
He emphasized that in the current unstable and troubled world, in the face of increasingly growing contradictions and increasing pressure from outside, Uzbekistan will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with Tajikistan, providing full support to the sincere aspirations of the hardworking and noble Tajik people.
“I am convinced that the friendship and close cooperation of our peoples, who have drank water from the same river for thousands of years, shared the blessings of life, jointly overcame difficulties and solved problems, will be forever indestructible. As the wise Tajik proverb says: “Dustoni vafodor beh az kheshovandon” (Faithful friends are closer than relatives),” noted Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
