DUSHANBE, 09.11.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On November 9, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon met in Abdurahmoni Jomi district with leaders and activists of Khatlon Province.

The Head of State Emomali Rahmon summed up his working visits to the cities and districts of Yovon, Levakant, Bokhtar, Jaloliddini Balkhi, Kushoniyon and Abdurahmoni Jomi, and set new tasks before the leadership of Khatlon Province and its cities and districts in order to implement the strategic goals of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and carry out instructions and orders for the worthy celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

It was emphasized that in order to welcome the 35th anniversary of the State Independence in Khatlon Province, the construction and reconstruction of 6 thousand 260 industrial and social facilities is planned, of which more than 3.5 thousand facilities have already been built and put into operation.

In particular, the construction and restoration of 118 festive facilities has been completed in Abdurahmoni Jomi district, which makes up 58 percent of the plan.

The leadership of the region and its cities and districts were instructed to further expand the work to welcome the 35th anniversary of the State Independence and implement strategic development goals, including rapid industrialization and providing the population with productive employment.

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon, in order to implement the programs of economic and social development of Khatlon Province and its cities and districts for 2021-2025, tasked the leadership of the region and its cities and districts to eliminate the existing shortcomings and to ensure full and timely implementation of the programs together with relevant ministries and agencies as well as in cooperation with domestic and foreign investors.

As it was emphasized, 83 state investment projects worth 12 billion somoni have been implemented in Khatlon Province during the period of independence, and now works are being carried out within another 46 projects with a total cost of 12.8 billion somoni.

The mentioned projects are aimed at solving the issues of economic and social development of the region, including in the fields of education and healthcare, industry and energy, agriculture, housing and utilities, transport, tourism and prevention of emergency incidents.

The Leader of the Nation emphasized that in the nine months of this year, more than 3.4 billion somoni were spent for the implementation of constructive goals and plans for the region from all sources of the state budget.

The leaders of the executive bodies of state power of Khatlon Province and its cities and districts received an order from the Head of State to expand their activities in the direction of attracting domestic and foreign direct investment.

During the analysis of the state of the industry, the Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon stated that the opportunities and capacities of the region for its development, especially the processing industry, are extremely high.

In order to fully and efficiently use the available opportunities, the President of the country considered important the initiatives and innovative approach of the leaders and officials of the region, its cities and districts, ministries and branch offices and their beneficial cooperation with the private sector.

In connection with the development of the energy sector, the Leader of the Nation drew the attention of the officials of the sector to the issues of comprehensive preparation of power transmission lines and power stations for operation in autumn and winter.

The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, industry companies and executive authorities of the region and its cities and districts were obliged to eliminate the shortcomings and deficiencies in the industry in a timely manner.

It was emphasized that in the months of January-September 2024, the farmers of the region produced products worth more than 28 billion somoni, which is 11.5% more than the same period last year.

The President of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, expressed his opinion on the state support of the social spheres of the region and instructed the leadership of the region, its cities and districts, and relevant ministries to take specific measures to promptly correct existing deficiencies in the education and health sectors.

After the speech of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the chairman of Khatlon Province Davlatali Said and the leaders of a number of cities and districts of the region reported to the Head of State on the results of social and economic development of the region in nine months of 2024.
