Tajikistan, Japan discuss preparations for Central Asia-Japan Summit

On February 1, 2025, in Dushanbe, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin, received the Japanese delegation headed by the Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan Akihisa Nagashima, reports Kjovar, citing Tajik Foreign Ministry.
During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on wide-ranging issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, paying special attention to the upcoming Summit of the Heads of State Dialogue «Central Asia + Japan».
Interlocutors discussed the prospects of deepening bilateral cooperation in the spheres of economy, trade, agriculture, energy, transport, ecology, tourism and education.
In this regard, the importance of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between Tajikistan and Japan, which makes a significant contribution to promoting mutually beneficial cooperation, was emphasized.
The parties also touched on key aspects of cultural-humanitarian relations, including Japan’s participation in the upcoming International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation in Dushanbe and Tajikistan’s participation in the EXPO-2025 World Exhibition in Osaka.
