Tajikistan Expresses Concern Over Inclusion of Certain Banks in EU Sanctions List

DUSHANBE, 01.11.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The Council of the European Union has adopted a new package of sanctions that extends to the activities of a number of banks and companies from third countries, including Tajikistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan has expressed deep concern and regret over the inclusion of certain Tajik banks in this sanctions list.
In its statement, the Ministry emphasized that the Republic of Tajikistan strictly adheres to its international obligations and remains committed to cooperating with its international partners to jointly prevent risks associated with the possible circumvention of sanctions measures.
The Government of Tajikistan is carefully studying and monitoring the current situation and is taking all necessary steps to minimize potential negative impacts that may arise from the implementation of these sanctions.
