Dushanbe to host International Conference on Water for Sustainable Development in 2026
On December 9, 2025, a two-day meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Implementation of the UNGA Resolution on the “Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences, 2025-2034” commenced at UNESCO Headquarters.
According to the Tajik MFA Information Department, during the meeting, the leading role of the Republic of Tajikistan in solving global issues related to water and climate was emphasized, and and the importance and timeliness of implementing the aforementioned resolution was assessed.
The representative of Tajikistaninformed about the Fourth High-Level International Conference of the International Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028”, which will be held in May 2026 in Dushanbe, and underscored the significance of its platform for strengthening cooperation on water and climate issues, as well as cryospheric sciences.
