On February 17, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, who is in Dushanbe on a working visit.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of the Tajik–Uzbek strategic partnership and allied cooperation, identifying pathways for further expansion.
Satisfaction was expressed with the positive growth in mutual trade and investment, and emphasis was placed on the significant potential to deepen collaboration across industry, energy, transport, agriculture, and other sectors of shared interest. Both sides also underscored the importance of expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The President highlighted the effective work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, whose regular session took place the same day in Dushanbe.
The discussions reaffirmed the importance of maintaining constructive and trust-based intergovernmental dialogue across the bilateral agenda, including thorough preparations for forthcoming high-level meetings and coordination of this year’s schedule of joint events.
