The Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the president of Tajikistan serves as the coordinating body for implementing state policy in the sector, officials said at an event marking Innovation and Digital Technologies Workers’ Day.

The agency said systemic initiatives have helped quickly establish institutional, infrastructural and legal foundations for the digital economy, moving governance processes to a “qualitatively new stage.”

Innovation and digital technologies are now among Tajikistan’s development priorities, officials said, as the country advances digital transformation efforts across public administration, the economy and social services.

Authorities also highlighted progress in building a startup ecosystem and supporting innovative entrepreneurship as part of broader efforts to modernize the economy.

The observance was described as a recognition of the role of industry specialists in advancing digital development, introducing modern technologies and strengthening national innovation capacity.

Several agency employees were awarded honors for professional achievements during the ceremony.
