President Emomali Rahmon Meets with President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran in Tehran

On July 3, in Tehran, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Honorable Masoud Pezeshkian.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Head of our state, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, once again expressed condolences to the leadership and friendly people of Iran in connection with the martyrdom of the former Supreme Leader of the country, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
During the conversation, satisfaction was expressed with the process of developing multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran.
The effective activity of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission was stressed as an important means of economic and trade relations.
It was noted that the volume of trade between the two countries has increased eightfold in the past five years, approaching almost five hundred million dollars in 2025. At the same time, it was stated that there are all the necessary opportunities to bring this figure to one billion dollars in the near future.
The implementation of joint projects in the fields of industry, energy, mining, agriculture, road construction, transportation, tourism, and healthcare was deemed important.
During the discussion of security issues, the hope was expressed that the process of peace and reconciliation and the priority given to political and diplomatic ways of resolving conflicts in the region would remain stable.
At the end of the meeting, the commitment of both sides to further expand multifaceted relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries was once again emphasized.
