Political Consultations Between Tajikistan and Bangladesh Held in Dhaka

DUSHANBE, 10.07.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 8, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh were held in Dhaka at the level of deputy foreign ministers — Idibek Qalandar and Asad Alam Siyam. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan informed NIAT Khovar about this.
During the consultations, the sides discussed issues related to further strengthening bilateral relations, expanding cooperation in trade and economic sectors, education, science and culture, as well as other areas of mutual interest.
As part of the political consultations, Idibek Qalandar also held meetings with Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Khalil-ur Rahman and State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Shama Obaid Islam.
During the meetings, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation, as well as interaction within the framework of international organizations.
The parties also discussed expanding cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, investment, textiles, tourism, science and education, culture and other social sectors.
