Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon Launches New Schools, Public Facilities and Development Projects in Rasht Valley

On September 11, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, remotely inaugurated 15 facilities across the Rasht, Nurobod, Sangvor, Lakhsh, and Tojikobod districts and reviewed the project for the Labijar–Sangvor highway.
In the village of Qaznoq (Rasht district), the administrative building for the Nusratullo Makhsum rural community and a museum dedicated to the Hero of Tajikistan Nusratullo Makhsum were opened; meanwhile, in the town of Gharm, the Education Department building, the security department facility for the Rasht region, and a Youth Palace were put into operation.
In the Mehrobod rural community of Nurobod district, a general secondary education school (No. 12)—accommodating 700 students across two shifts—and a shopping center were inaugurated.
Additionally, the Garmchashma-i Vakhyo Hotel was opened in the Zarshuyon rural community of Sangvor district.
During the remote inauguration ceremonies, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, inspected the working conditions at the Lakhsh district branch of the State Committee for National Security, as well as the Justice Center, the food security center, and the electrical network facility. In the Tojikobod district, three new educational facilities were commissioned: General Secondary Education Institution No. 45 (accommodating 350 students across two shifts) in the newly established Sabzazor neighborhood; General Secondary Education Institution No. 28 (350 students, two shifts) in Polezak village, Shirinchashma rural community; and General Secondary Education Institution No. 44 (600 students, two shifts) in the newly established Safedmun village. In total, the opening of these three educational facilities in the Tojikobod district provides modern learning conditions for 1,300 students.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, emphasized the importance of achieving the Government’s objectives and implementing the action plan for the 35th anniversary of State Independence. He highlighted the significance of contributions made by local entrepreneurs and residents to development efforts, as well as the commissioning of various facilities—actions that align service conditions with modern standards, create employment opportunities for the population, and expand production capabilities across the districts of the Rasht Valley. The chairpersons of the Rasht, Nurobod, Sangvor, Lakhsh, and Tojikobod districts were instructed to fully utilize existing opportunities, intensify construction and development efforts, and ensure the timely harvesting of agricultural produce.
In total, as part of the action plan for celebrating the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, 404 facilities have been built and commissioned in the Rasht district, 270 in Nurobod, 99 in Lakhsh, 94 in Tojikobod, and 95 in the Sangvor district.
During the presentation, the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that the Labijar-Sangvor highway project—spanning a total length of 64.5 kilometers—is being implemented.
This year, construction will begin on a 10-kilometer section of the road from Labijar to the village of Kaftarguzar, including the building of two bridges with a combined length of 148 meters, 18 culverts of various sizes, 21 retaining walls, and a lighting system.
The Labijar-Sangvor highway project is being implemented by the Project Implementation Unit for the Shohon-Zighar Highway Construction Project. While reviewing the project for the Labijar–Sangvor road, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, instructed the relevant officials to ensure high-quality and timely construction—taking into account the specific conditions of the mountainous terrain—as well as to attract more investment and accelerate the pace of work.
