The opening of the plant represents an important step towards achieving the strategic objectives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, particularly the accelerated industrialization of the country, the development of domestic production and the strengthening of national pharmaceutical security.

During the visit, President Emomali Rahmon was provided with detailed information about the plant’s production capacity, technologies, product range, and prospects for further development.

As reported, the company is a joint Tajik-Indian venture established in 2022. Implementation of the project began in May 2024 under an investment agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and Rhazes Pharma.

At the initial stage, four production lines have been commissioned, with the manufacture of 100 types of medicines underway.

The plant’s annual production capacity includes:

1.4 billion tablets;

300 million capsules;

21 million units of liquid medicines for external use;

13 million units of ointments, creams and gels.

According to the development plan, the company expects to expand its product range to 250 types of medicines in the future.

During the visit, the Head of State was also briefed on the use of modern equipment, digital management systems and the operations of a specialized quality-control laboratory. The plant operates in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, ensuring quality control of raw materials and finished products at every stage of production.

The plant’s machinery, equipment, and advanced production technologies have been supplied from the United States, Italy, Germany, and Japan.

The application of advanced technologies, automated production processes and international standards will create favorable conditions for manufacturing high-quality and safe medicines, improving operational efficiency and ensuring the competitiveness of domestically produced pharmaceutical products.

Once the first phase of the project reaches its full production capacity, the plant will provide permanent employment for more than 300 people. This initiative will contribute not only to the development of the pharmaceutical industry but also to the training of highly qualified specialists and the improvement of the population’s socioeconomic well-being.

President Emomali Rahmon was also presented with the implementation plan for the second phase of the project.

It was noted that the full implementation of the project would create greater opportunities to reduce the domestic market’s dependence on imported medicines, expand the range of locally manufactured pharmaceutical products, attract domestic and foreign investment, and strengthen the country’s export potential.

According to the second-phase plan, a new production facility covering an area of more than 10,000 square meters will be constructed with an investment exceeding 150 million somoni. The expansion will create 150 additional jobs.

The new facility will specialize in producing 100 types of liquid medicines in ampoules and large plastic containers, with an annual production capacity of 125 million units.

President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon issued instructions and recommendations to the company’s management and relevant officials, emphasizing the efficient use of existing capacities, ensuring the quality and safety of medicines, compliance with international standards, increasing domestic production, training highly qualified professionals, and completing the second phase of the project on schedule.
