International Navruz holiday celebrated in the United Nations
Dushanbe, 25.03.2016. (NIAT “Khovar”). — On March 21, 2016 pursuant to the UN General Assembly Resolution A/64/253 the International Day of Navruz was celebrated in the UN Headquarter in New York.
According to Tajik MFA Information Department, the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN has attended the event and delivered a statement. In his statement the Permanent Representative has congratulated participants and spoken about essence of Navruz in Tajikistan.
The President of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Secretary-General of the UN and the Permanent Representatives of Afghanistan, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have also attended the event and delivered statements.
At the end of the event the video-clips with reflection of Navruz features in the above mentioned countries were presented.
