Shuhrat Ashurov has been elected as the Chairman of the Union of composers of Tajikistan
Dushanbe, 07.06.2016 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On June 6, 2016, the 13th extraordinary Congress of the Union of composers of Tajikistan was held.
At the Congress by secret ballot were held elections of the Chairman of the Union. Among the 3 candidates known Tajik composer Shuhrat Ashurov has been elected as the Chairman of the Union of composers of Tajikistan.
At the same time, the Congress delegates have discussed the issues of preparation to the state holidays, writing modern musical works, compiling textbooks for educational institutions of culture and art, education of young composers, musicologists and activation of creative activity of members of the Union of composers.
After being elected as the head of the Union of composers of Tajikistan, 54-year-old composer and people’s artist of Tajikistan Shuhrat Ashurov has told reporters that he intends to organize a special school for young composers.
“School will be open for gifted teenagers from all cities and districts of the country. Thus, we intend to grow a generation of young composers”.
