Head of CESCD and International Consultant discussed the issue of adaptation to climate change
DUSHANBE, 09.06.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Lieutenant-General Rustam Nazarzoda met on June 9 with the international consultant on the development of the adaptation Plan to climate change of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Mrs. Ephrat Yovel.
According to the press center of CESCD, during the meeting the sides discussed the issues of adaptation to climate change and the development of the Joint Action Plan.
It is reported that the head of given agency having informed E. Yovel on the Committee’s activities and its member agencies, expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral relations with the relevant structures of the UN and stressed the importance of wide use of possibilities of cooperation.
Mrs. E. Yovel, in turn, expressed her gratitude for active cooperation. According to her, Tajikistan carried out important activities in the areas of disaster risk management, prevention of emergency situations and elimination of their consequences.
