The first coordination meeting on implementing regional and country grants from the Pandemic Fund in Tajikistan was held April 14 at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population, the ministry said.
Officials said Tajikistan has secured significant grant funding to strengthen pandemic preparedness and combat antimicrobial resistance.
The initiative was described as a sign of international partners’ trust in the country’s health care system.
Participants noted that lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic underscored the need for stronger intersectoral cooperation. In this context, the project “Strengthening the One Health Approach to Pandemic Preparedness and Reducing Antimicrobial Resistance” was highlighted as a key effort to integrate human health, veterinary and environmental sectors.
The meeting also addressed the launch of the grant implementation phase, including defining roles and responsibilities, establishing coordination mechanisms, developing an action plan and avoiding duplication of activities.
