DUSHANBE, 01.09.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon met on September 1 in Beijing with teachers and students of Tsinghua University, as well as with Tajik students studying in higher educational institutions of China.

At first, President Emomali Rahmon held a sincere meeting with the Rector of Tsinghua University to discuss the cooperation of scientific circles of Tajikistan and China.

It was stressed that over the years of cooperation in the field of education, along with other spheres, the ties between higher education institutions of both countries has become closer and strengthened. Currently, about 3,000 Tajik students are studying at the universities of China, which is a clear indication of cooperation in this direction.

In honor of the state visit of the President of Tajikistan to the People’s Republic of China and on the occasion of signing the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Tajik National University and the Tsinghua University, the Rector of the University took the initiative to allocate in the future 10 quota in the first stage and 50 quota in the second stage for the training of Tajik students at Tsinghua University.

Here, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon for his contribution to the development and expansion of friendly relations and cooperation between Tajikistan and China and strengthening scientific cooperation was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Economics.

The Head of State Emomali Rahmon, expressing satisfaction with honoring the title of Honorary Professor in the field of economics of one of the most famous universities in China, expressed his gratitude to the leadership and the Academic Council of this educational institution for the recognition of his merits.

It was emphasized that Tsinghua University, as an authoritative higher educational institution, became famous in the People’s Republic of China and abroad, and it is an example of China’s international status and the embodiment of the aspirations of the younger generation of this country.

In this significant temple of science and education, many generations, including former President of the People’s Republic of China Hu Jintao and its current leader Xi Jinping, were brought up and trained, these outstanding figures played a worthy role in the development and improvement of interstate relations between Tajikistan and China.

President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said that the establishment of direct links between the teaching and student staff of higher educational institutions of the two states can significantly affect the greater development and expansion of cultural and scientific relations.

It was noted with satisfaction that Tajikistan attaches paramount importance to strengthening bilateral cooperation with China in the field of education, a clear example of which is the exchange of students and the functioning of joint and cultural centers.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon congratulated all Tajik students, who came to this University for a meeting with the Head of State, on the Day of Knowledge, which is celebrated on the first of September every year in all parts of Tajikistan, and once again stressed that the Tajik state and nation lay very great and endless hopes on the educated and rising generation of the country.
