WHO Representative: “The role and contribution of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the fight against smoking are very significant and important”
DUSHANBE, 20.06.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. “The role and contribution of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the fight against smoking are very significant and important”, — Igor Pokanevych, the Head of World Health Organization Office in Tajikistan, told yesterday reporters after the presentation of WHO Medal to the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in connection with the World No Tobacco Day.
According to Igor Pokaniewicz, the WHO and the whole world mark the World No Tobacco Day every year, urging humanity and governments to reduce tobacco poisoning. At the same time, the achievements of countries and heads of state in this direction are highly appreciated.
“This year, the medal was awarded to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon”, — said Igor Pokanevych, the Head of WHO Country Office in Tajikistan.
