Snow Drifts, Black Ice, Avalanches; Tajik Hydrometeorological Agency Issues a Warning
DUSHANBE, 10.01.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Agency for Hydrometeorology of Tajikistan is warning the public of unstable weather in the coming days.
On January 10-11, unstable weather conditions along with heavy snow are expected throughout the country, except for eastern GBAO regions, reports the Hydrometeorology Agency.
Avalanches may occur on the southern slopes of the Hissor range and the western areas of GBAO today and tomorrow.
“Packed snow, sleet and snow drifts remain on the highways. Therefore, while passing avalanche areas on mountain roads it is necessary to keep distance between vehicles. Extremely caution is advised,” notes the warning.
