Emomali Rahmon’s Working Trip to Nurobod District
DUSHANBE, 24.06.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Upon completing his trip to Sangvor, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited the Nurobod district where he inspected the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy.
At the exhibition, the local residents showcased their products, such as baked goods, samples of carving, blacksmithing, agricultural crops, traditional medicinal herbs.
President Emomali Rahmon participated in the opening ceremony of modern metal roofing, plastic window and door, and a cement bricks manufacturing center.
As per tradition, during the festive banquet, President Emomali Rahmon handed over gifts to more than 50 orphans.
This was followed by attending the opening ceremony of a shopping center named after Abubakr in the Nurobod district. The three story center was built by a local entrepreneur Murtazo Amonov.
Continuing his visit to Nurobod, President Emomali Rahmon attended the opening ceremony of the state enterprise Housing and Communal Services, the construction of which had began in 2015, and the ceremony marking the end of the first phase of Darband highway’s construction and the beginning of its second phase.
In addition President Emomali Rahmon opened the new football pitch encompassing 800 squares meters, which was built by the Football Federation of Tajikistan in the Nurobod district.
After the opening ceremonies, President Emomali Rahmon met with some of the locals. During this meeting, he stressed that the government has made significant progress towards the development of remote mountainous areas, including Nurobod district, and has allocated 1,1 billion somoni mainly for its socio-economic development. Only 225 million somoni has been spent in the last three years.
Since the country’s independence, 12 investment projects have been implemented totaling 509 million somoni, with three other projects underway. Within the framework of existing projects, the eight secondary educational institutions in Yakhch, Sabziqadam and Hasandara villages have been equipped with the necessary technology and teaching aids.
Over the years of independence in Nurobod, over 60 educational institution buildings have been renovated. Plans for building eight other educational facilities are underway.
Within its socio-economic development program, the district is currently working on a total of 202 projects costing 182 million somoni.
The construction of 248 facilities is scheduled to begin during the period of Tajikistan’s 30th anniversary of independence, with 93 of them having began recently.
At the end of his visit, President Emomali Rahmon noted that he remains confident that the hardworking residents of Nurobod will continue to put effort into the area’s socio-economic development.
