Kuwaiti Cultural Days Begins in Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 16.10.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Culture of Tajikistan Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda met with the Deputy Secretary General of the Kuwait’s National Council of Culture, Literature and Art Badr al-Duwaishi at the National Library in Dushanbe.
The meeting focused on the issues relating to cultural relations between Kuwait and Tajikistan, as well as expanding opportunities for cooperation.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan to Kuwait Zubaidullo Zubaidov also attended the meeting.
Following the meeting, the parties held a press conference.
Orumbekzoda and al-Duvaishi answered journalists’ questions about upcoming cultural events, plans for the development of relations, coverage of tourist opportunities in Tajikistan in Kuwaiti media, and the publication of selected works by writers of Tajikistan and Kuwait.
“We express our gratitude to the Tajik side for their sincere and warm welcome. The nature of Tajikistan captivated the delegation,” al-Duwaishi said.

After the press conference, the guests visited the museum of the National Library of Tajikistan and got acquainted with books and rare manuscripts.
Also an exhibition of Kuwaiti artists, as well as photographs about the history of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Kuwait was held yesterday at in the lobby of the Tajik State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Sadriddin Ayni.

A documentary of Kuwaiti filmmakers and a joint concert was also screened yesterday as part of the opening ceremony.
Today at 11:00, a book exhibition of the Kuwait’s State Cultural Council was held at the Tajik National University. An evening of poetry of Kuwaiti and Tajik poets also took place at the same venue.
On October 17-18, the creative staff of the guests will visit the city of Norak and the Varzob district, where they will get acquainted with the nature of our country and, together with Tajik artists, will hold concert programs.
The guests are also scheduled to visit the National Museum of Tajikistan, the National Flag Park and other historical places of Dushanbe.
