Deputy PM Ismatullozoda Holds Meeting on Comprehensive Services for Mother and Child Project
DUSHANBE, 26.02.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Shirin Ismatullozoda held the first meeting of the Interdepartmental Steering Committee for the implementation of Comprehensive Services for the Mother and Child Project.
The committee consists of qualified employees of the relevant ministries and departments.
“The implementation of Comprehensive Services for the Mother and Child Project was launched on the basis of the Presidential Decree No. 1169, dated December 31, 2018, On the Draft Grant Agreement between Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank in Healthcare Institutions in the districts of Rasht, Fayzobod, and Shamsiddin Shohin,” Ismatullozoda said.
“The project is aimed at improving the primary health services for women and children,” Ismatullozoda added.
The Interdepartmental Steering Committee was approved by the governmental decree dated October 24, 2019. The total project amount is $35.2 million, of which $3.2 million must be provided by the government of Tajikistan.
The project launched on March 29 last year and will continue until August 31, 2025.
