Over 800 People Will Collect Census Data in Bokhtar
BOKHTAR, 21.04.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – A two-day workshop on Population and Housing Census of Tajikistan – 2020 commenced on April 20 in Bokhtar and will continue today. The workshop is organized in collaboration with UNFPA within the new Project Strengthening Demographic Statistics in Tajikistan funded by the Russian government.
Deputy Director of the Tajik Statistical Agency Kiyomiddin Davlatzoda and head of Provincial Statistics Department in Khatlon Kurbon Hakimzoda attended the opening ceremony.
Over 800 people will be trained as censor takers in Bokhtar. Additionally, chairmen of mahalla councils and employees of local self-government bodies will be involved in campaigning and holding talks with the population.
The results obtained during the census will contribute to the development of socio-economic and demographic policies, forecasts and programs for socio-economic development, as well as the effective solution of tasks in various fields.
