President Emomali Rahmon Holds Telephone Conversation with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev

DUSHANBE, 24.07.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the conversation, President Rahmon congratulated President Mirziyoyev on his birthday.
President Rahmon noted the effective role of Shavkat Mirziyoyev in ensuring the socio-economic development of Uzbekistan and its strengthening position in the international arena.
While wishing the brotherly people of Uzbekistan lasting peace, stability, well-being and prosperity, President Rahmon praised the recent large-scale developments taking place in this neighboring country.
During the discussion of key issues, the counterparts stressed their interest in the consistent development of good neighborly relations and mutually beneficial multifaceted cooperation between both countries, and expressed readiness to further promote the strategic partnership in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and trust.
Ensuring regional security, in particular in Afghanistan was touched on. Both sides exchanged information over the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the two countries.
Other issues of reginal and international matters were discussed.
