President Emomali Rahmon Meets Leader and Representatives of Rudaki District

DUSHANBE, 01.10.2020 (NIAT Khovar) –The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the leader and representatives of Rudaki district.
The meeting focused on the socio-economic development, health care, education, agricultural and industrial sectors, attraction of domestic and foreign capital, and the upcoming 30th anniversary of independence.
In his address, President Rahmon noted that since independence, more than 1.5 billion somoni has been allocated from the national budget toward the development of various sectors of Rudaki district. During this period, 24 public investment projects worth more than 1.2 billion somoni were implemented in the region. Now 8 other projects costing a total of 250 million somoni are under implementation.
In accordance with the approved plan for the decent celebration of the 30th anniversary of independence, 414 new social and economic facilities as well as roads and bridges and drinking water supply systems must be built in Rudaki. Seventy percent of the plan has already been reached.
Ten new educational institutions and 104 additional classrooms for 13,000, 29 health centers and medical clinics have been opened at the expense of the national budget, entrepreneurs, and generous people for the development of education and health care systems. Also, more than 136 km of local roads have been rehabilitees.
According to statistics, the total volume of agricultural production in the district in January-August of 2020 amounted to 431 million somoni and this indicator has increased 6.2% compared to the same period last year.
During 1991-2020, 111 new educational institutions and additional buildings for 17,330 have been built and put into operation in the district from funding sources.
At the end of his speech, President Rahmon stressed his confidence that the people of Rudaki will continue to make a valuable contribution toward the prosperity and beautification of their region.
Before his meeting with the leader and representatives of Rudaki district, President Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony of the Himmat preschool and a gymnasium, Oftobak preschool and the Trade Service Center.
While at the unveiling ceremony of a monument to the first founder of the Tajik state — King Ismoili Somoni, he provided 50 children deprived of parental care with cash assistance.
