DUSHANBE, 15.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) has achieved a lot since the coronavirus entered Tajikistan. This was said today at a press conference by NAS President Farhod Rahimi.
“One of the inventions of scientists was an artificial respiration apparatus. This device is based on an electronic design developed by physicists and tested in the City Clinical Emergency Hospital,” Rahimi noted.
According to him, there is an opportunity to establish industrial production of this device in Tajikistan to substitute those currently imported.
Among past year’s achievements Rahimi also named the start of the production of sodium hypochlorite, which is widely used in all countries as a conventional antiseptic for neutralizing viruses.
“Additionally, the production of silver water has been established through electrolysis. It should be noted that silver nanoparticles have antimicrobial properties and are very effective disinfectants against viruses. Their neutralizing effect on more than 650 types of bacteria and viruses has been proven,” Rahimi mentioned.
“In addition, silver ions increase the body’s immunity and limit the risk of infection. NAS currently recommends the production of this product as an antiviral for disinfecting protective masks,” Rahimi added.
