Ambassador Sharifi Meets Senate Speaker and Minister of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan

DUSHANBE, 23.04.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – On April 19, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Afghanistan Sadi Sharifi met with the Speaker of Meshrano Jirga (Senate) of the National Council of Afghanistan Fazlhadi Muslimyar.
Referring to the good neighborliness and extensive relations between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, Muslimyar expressed gratitude to the people and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon for his efforts in promoting peace in Afghanistan.
Sharifi noted that the establishment of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, the activation of inter-parliamentary relations, and the exchange of visits between friendship groups are important factors in strengthening relations between the two countries.
He also proposed to develop the tradition of strengthening the close relations between the National Assembly of Tajikistan and the Senate of Afghanistan.
On April 21, Ambassador Sharifi met with the Minister of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan Muhammadharon Jahansuri.
The meeting focused on the issues of expansion of cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, the Main Department of Geology of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan in the field of efficient use of energy resources, minerals, oil and gas, precious stones, and exchange of experience.
