FM Muhriddin Holds Online Meeting with ESCAP Executive Secretary

DUSHANBE, 06.04.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin held an online meeting with the Executive Secretary of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana.
The parties discussed the mitigation оf the socio-economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, UN reforms, Tajikistan’s international initiatives, and its participation in the 77th session of ESCAP on April 26-29, 2021 via video conference format.
They discussed the perspectives of cooperation in water, energy and economic spheres.
The officials noted that to support the member-countries in achieving the agenda for 2030, it is important to accelerate the cooperation mechanism of the UN regional commissions with the UN country team by attracting investments, including from the private sector.
